Arrests

The information in the following report was obtained from the Miami County Sheriff’s Office and other area law enforcement agencies. Individuals named in this report are presumed innocent until proven otherwise in a court of law.

Johnetta Lutz, 52, 6174 S. 650 W., Wabash, was arrested at 11:43 p.m. on Thursday (PPD) and was charged with possession of meth and possession of paraphernalia.  

Chase D. Grant, 19, 1041 Home Ave., Kokomo, was arrested at 2:16 a.m. on Friday (PPD) and was charged with dealing marijuana and possession of marijuana. 

Denny Lyons, 44, 117 S. Huntington St., Apt. B, was arrested at 9:09 am. on Friday (PPD) and was charged with a warrant out of Grayson County, Kentucky. 

James Munsey, 32, 813 E. Marion St., Converse, was arrested at 1:17 p.m. on Friday (MCSD) and was charged with failure to appear. 

Edwin Holstein 41, 5844 E. 1525 N., Roann, was arrested at 5:15 p.m. on Friday (MCSD) and was charged with driving while suspended. 

Dalton Brown, 26, 155 N. Emmons St., Denver, was arrested at 7:15 p.m. on Friday (MCSD) and was charged with neglect of a dependent. 

Michael Brown, 24, 119 1/2 N. Wabash St., was arrested at 8:58 p.m. on Friday (PPD) and was charged with failure to appear and operator never licensed.  

Amanda Recinos, 28, 17 Jean Ave., was arrested at 12:10 a.m. on Saturday (PPD) and was charged with possession of meth. 

Dajon E. Lewis, 19, Kokomo, was arrested at 3:38 a.m. on Saturday (MCSD) and was charged with failure to appear. 

Cory St. Clair, 30, 1539 W. 600 S. Lot 10, was arrested at 1:20 p.m. on Saturday (MCSD) and was charged with driving while suspended. 

David Jones, 33, 214 S. Huntington St., was arrested at 6:40 p.m. on Saturday (PPD) and was charged with Habitual Traffic Violator.

Cody Townsend, 20, 208 W. Ninth St., was arrested at 9:11 on Saturday (MCSD) and was charged with an OWI. 

Tricia M. Clem, 350 State St., Wabash, was arrested at 9:40 p.m. on Saturday (PPD) and was charged with failure to appear. 

Maria Bateman, 33, 512 W. Seventh St., was arrested at 12:49 a.m. on Sunday (PPD) and was charged with a warrant out of Cass County. 

Miami County Sheriff’s Office 

Saturday 

12:03 a.m. Miami County deputies assisted Peru Police officers on a traffic stop at N. Grant Street and W. Seventh Street. During the search of the driver, meth was located. 

12:12 p.m. A 2011 Chevrolet SUV driven by Mary Taylor, 38, Kokomo, was traveling east on Warhawk Road and failed to stop at the stop sign for Foreman Drive. Taylor’s vehicle was struck by a 2004 Chevrolet driven by Andrea Morgan, 32, Wabash, who was traveling south on Foreman Drive. A juvenile passenger in Taylor’s vehicle was transported by ambulance for possible injury to her arm. No injuries were reported by the three occupants of Morgan’s vehicle. 

4:27 p.m. Aaron Nethercutt, 24, was attempting to back out of a parking lot in his 1994 Chevrolet. Nethercutt struck the passenger side front door of a 2016 Volkswagon, causing approximately $1,500 worth of damage. There were no injuries and a crash report was completed.

Peru Police Department 

Saturday 

12:04 a.m. Deputies responded to a report of an unconscious male lying in the lawn on W. Eighth Street. The male was cited and released for possession of marijuana under 30 grams.

5:01 a.m. Police responded to a call of a stolen bicycle at 343 W. 13th St. A report was taken.

7:01 a.m. Deputies responded to 414 W. Seventh St. for criminal mischief to a vehicle. This is a continuing investigation. 

8:42 a.m. Police responded to 347 Harrison Ave. for the reported theft of two bicycles. 

1:22 p.m. Central Dispatch advised officers of a female subject who wanted to report four bicycles that had been stolen at 442 W. 12th St.

6:30 p.m. Police made a traffic stop at Water Street and Carbon Avenue due to a vehicle driving left of center. The driver was confirmed to be a habitual traffic violator. Police transported the driver to the Miami County Jail, where he was booked on a felony traffic offense.

Sunday 

6:10 p.m. Deputies made a traffic stop on S. Wayne Street and E. Third Street on a vehicle due to expired registration. A citation was issued for operating with expired plates.

9:41 p.m. Police responded to a call of a semi that was parked on the street for about two weeks now. Deputies located a semi truck and trailer parked on Union Street. The semi was parked partly parked on the sidewalk, and police made contact with a subject at 402 W. Sixth St. The subject, Jesus Pagan-Torres, said it was his semi and that it had been parked there for two weeks. He was informed about the city ordinance law on oversize vehicles. He was advised that he needed to move the semi. He became angry about moving it and not being allowed to park there. Police asked for his driver’s license and informed him that he would be given a written warning for the violation. Pagan-Torres said he wanted a ticket and not a written warning. Jesus was issued a citation for the violation and stated he would move the vehicle.
