Wings, Etc. hosting last band of year

Ethan Kimm - Newsroom Intern

Peru bar and restaurant Wings, Etcetera will be offering Miami County residents one last opportunity to see live music at their establishment this season on Saturday night.

This weekend will see the band Who’s Yer Coustic take the stage from 8-11 p.m.

According to Head Store Manager Donita Blackman, this is the restaurant’s second year providing live music since opening almost two years ago. Blackman said Wings, Etc. intends to keep hosting live music on Saturday nights, but not through the winter.

“We will start it back up in the spring when the weather starts getting a bit warmer.” Blackman said.

The bar area of the restaurant is limited to those of legal drinking age, but bands play outdoors, making it an all ages affair.

There are a variety of different bands and performers chosen to play at the establishment.

Performers are discovered through open mic nights, which occur every Thursday evening at the restaurant. These open mic nights provide an opportunity for any community member to participate and have the chance at being offered a Saturday night gig.

“Come on out to Wings, Etc. this Saturday to enjoy the music, some wings and the last of the warm weather.” Says Blackman.

While Saturday is the last live music performance of the season, the restaruant will host one more open mic night on Sept. 20.

For any resident who has interest or questions about the event, Wings, Etc. can be reached at (765) 327-2269 or stop by 888 W. Main St.
