PHS Class of 1956: will meet for lunch at 11:30 a.m. at the Dutch Cafe.

March 9

Miami County Democrats: will host a “Red for Ed” event from 5 to 7 p.m. at 23 W. Third St. The event will offer information regarding Indiana public education issues and crucial issues impacting teachers. Snacks and hot chocolate will provided and the event is free. 

Peru Circus City Festival Band: will hold their second annual all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner fundraiser from 4:30-7 p.m. at the Peru Maennerchor. For more information, contact either Rex Stitsworth at 469-1920 or Diane Haley at 469-2398.

Mexico Lions Club: will host a fish and tenderloin dinner from 4-7 p.m. at the Mexico Community Building. TIckets are $10 for adults, $6 for children 6-12 and under 6 are free. Used eyeglasses and hearing aids are being collected. For more information, call (765)226-0050.

March 15

Let’s Laugh with David Dean comedy show and cover band The Free Samples will be held at the PHS Auditorium. The band will perform from 6:15-7 p.m. and the comedy show begins at 7 p.m. Admission is free and open to all ages. For more information, call 473-7503.

Miami County YMCA: will host The Shamrock Hop from 6-8 p.m. Staff encourages attendees of the all age event to dress up in their best St. Patrick’s Day gear and dance along with fitness instructors. The event is free, but donations are requested. Snacks will be provided.

March 16

Moose Lodge Family Center: will host an American Red Cross blood drive from 9 a.m.- 2 p.m. at 110 N. Broadway. Call 1-800-RED CROSS or visit the Red Cross webiste and enter code “mlfc” to make an appointment. For more information, contact Joni Smith at 469-1545 for more information.

Harvesting Capabilities: will host a 3-on-3 basketball tournament to raise funds for their all-inclusive playground beginning at 10 a.m. at the Peru High School gym. Entries are $75 per team. Registration deadline is March 11. For more information, contact Justin Engel at (765) 431-1104.

St. Patrick’s Church: will host St. Patrick’s Day ceremonies including mass, meditation and a harpist. The event will last from 1-3:30 p.m. at the church in Lagro.

Story Time: The Peru Public Library will offer story time on the children’s floor every Tuesday at 10:30 a.m., and every Thursday at 2 p.m.

Peru Animal Care and Control: will offer low cost pet spaying and neutering every second Thursday of the month. Drop-off times for dogs are 6:15-6:30 a.m., and cat drop-offs are from 6:30-6:45 a.m. Pickup time is from 5-5:30 p.m. Call 450-6750 for more information.
