Eva M. Olivarez July 14, 1927 - March 16, 2019

Eva M. Olivarez (“Aunt Skeet”), 91, of Peru passed away at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2019, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Peru on July 14, 1927, to Joseph Henry and Alice Mae (Newburn) Tyler. She was married to Fredrick J. Selleck, later divorced. They had seven children, Marla (Ron) See of Peru, Steve (Jackie) Selleck of Auburn, Mike (Rhonda) Selleck of Peru, Robin Selleck of Peru and daughter-in-law Stacy of Peru. Eva had over 100 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She married Jose Olivarez later in life. He preceded her in death, as well as three children, Kevin J. Kimberly J. and Roger L. Selleck. Also, two grandchildren, one great-grandchild and nine siblings also preceded her in death.

Earlier in life, Eva worked in a factory and was a homemaker. She loved her family and family gatherings, playing cards and sitting on the porch outside being nosy.

Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. – 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20, 2019, at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 W. Third St., Peru, Indiana. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 21, 2019, at the funeral home, with Pastor Rod Correll officiating. Burial will take place at Reyburn Cemetery in Peru.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
