Richard P. “Dick” Kuntz, 67, passed away on March 10, 2019, in Rosarito Beach, Mexico, where he had resided for the last year and a half of his life. Born March 19, 1951, in Peru, he was the son of the late George William “Bill” (Joan) Kuntz of Melbourne, Florida, and Carolyn (nee Blake) Kelly of Lake San Marcos, California, who survives him.

Richard graduated from Maconaquah High School. He went on to receive a bachelor’s degree from Purdue University, where he was a proud member of the Sigma Chi fraternity. He later graduated with a master’s degree in business from City University Washington. Richard worked for many years in the steel industry, then later in his career he focused on the medical device field. His adventurous spirit led him to live all over the United States, including California, Oregon, Indiana, Ohio, North Carolina, Massachusetts, Missouri, Washington and Texas. He liked to entertain his loved ones with stories about his adventures, and to tell jokes to make people laugh. He was a lifelong Christian and dedicated to his faith. At the end of his life, he worked as a volunteer sheriff and helped local orphans.

Richard is survived by his wife Loan Tran of Henderson, Nevada. He is also survived by his daughter Ashley Becker of St. Louis, Missouri; his son Blake Kuntz of Carmel; and their mother, his former wife Cynthia Burge of Westfield. He is also survived by his daughter Hallie Johnson and her mother, his former wife Cynthia Johnson, both of Gig Harbor, Washington. Richard is survived by both of his siblings, his sister Kathryn (Russell) Brown of Lake San Marcos, California, and Diane (Deryl) Johnson of Peru. Richard will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
