Miami County 4-H Council announces winners of 4-H Memorial Scholarship

The Miami County 4-H Council recently announced the winners of the Miami County 4-H Memorial Scholarship in the amount of $500.

They are:

Sarah Eckrote

Sarah is the daughter of Michele and Jeff Eckrote and is a senior at North Miami High School. Sarah plans to attend Manchester University and study Bio-chemistry. She plans to use this experience to further her education and become a pharmacist. Sarah is a member of the Miami County 4-H Dairy Club and Miami County 4-H Jr Leaders. When Sarah completes her 10th year of 4-H this year she will have completed over 55 4-H projects. She has received recognition for excellence in 4-H Dairy projects and is an exceptional 4-H and FFA Dairy judger. Sarah was named Miami County Royal Showman for her excellent show skills. Sarah credits 4-H for helping her develop life skills in responsibility, time management and attention to detail.

Eilee Deniston

Eilee is the daughter of Amy and Kenny Deniston and a senior at North Miami High School. She plans to attend Purdue University to study Agricultural Communications with a focus on Public Policy. Eilee is a member of the Richland Risktakers 4-H Club and Miami County Jr Leaders. She is the current Miss Miami County Queen. Eilee has received recognition for excellence in Consumer Clothing, Home Environment and Vet Science. She also exhibited “ridiculously” great cookies in our former Crazy Cookie Contest. Eilee is an excellent 4-H and FFA Soils judger. Eilee is a 10 year 4-H member and will have completed over 50 projects in her tenure. Eilee credits her 4-H experience with developing life skill in leadership, public speaking and attention to detail.

Olivia Kuhn

Olivia is the daughter of Carmen and Michael Kuhn and a senior at North Miami High School. Olivia plans to attend Purdue University to study education and aspires to be a Special Education teacher. She is a member of the Miami County 4-H Dairy Club and Miami County 4-H Junior Leaders. Olivia is an excellent 4-H & FFA Dairy and Soils judger. Olivia has received recognition for excellence in Cake Decorating, Scrapbooking and Beef. When she completes her 10th year of 4-H this year, she will have completed 45 4-H projects. Olivia credits 4-H with developing life skills in time management, public speaking and leadership.

Riley McGuire

Riley is the son of Patricia and Ed McGuire and is a senior at North Miami High School. Riley plans to attend Trine University and possibly study Health Sciences. He is a member of the Jefferson Newcomers 4-H Club. Riley is a 6 year Miami County
