Public's help sought in identifying crash suspect

I.D.: The Peru Police Department is seeking the public’s help in identifying the two people captured in this surveillance image from JJ’s convenience store on Monday.

STAFF REPORT - Peru Tribune

The Peru Police Department is asking the public’s help in identifying two people that officers believe might have been  involved in a hit-and-run crash on Monday.

The police department did not report anyone being injured in the 11:30 a.m. crash in the parking lot of JJ’s convenience store store at 601 North Broadway. But authorities said they are trying to identify to male customers who were captured in an image from a surveillance camera inside the store

It appears as though the suspect went into the store to make a purchase, came back out and got into his truck (possibly gray single cab), backed into a vehicle, then left the scene,” the police department said in a Monday afternoon social media post.

Officials ask that anyone who can recognize either of the two people in the image contact Peru Police Officer Chad Mooney at (765) 473-2150, ext. 526.
