Marjorie (Marj) Irene Poage Adamson March 22, 1923 - Oct. 1, 2019

Marjorie (Marj) Irene Poage Adamson passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord at the age of 96 on Oct.1, 2019. She is survived by her loving husband of 77 years, Milo (Mike) Leroy Adamson, having been married at the First Baptist Church of South Bend, Indiana, on Nov. 8, 1941. They have resided at Martha Franks Baptist Retirement Community in Laurens, South Carolina the past 7 years. She spent most of her adult life in Peru, Indiana, retiring to Sebring, Florida and later to Laurens, South Carolina.

Marj graduated from Danville High School, Indiana, and Cosmetology School in Logansport, Indiana. She lived and worked in Peru, Indiana at Bubble Light, Bryan Steam, Essex Wire and retired from Square D/Schneider Electric. She owned and operated Marge’s Beauty Shoppe for many, many years.

Marj belonged to Amaranth, Eastern Star and Psi Iota Xi Philanthropic Sorority. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Peru. She loved to sew and create, including her wedding suit, most of her clothing and much for her children and husband. She transferred that love to her family and friends through her prolific quilted items. Marj had a ready smile and a loving heart for everyone she knew.

Marj was preceded in passing by her parents, Howard and Nora Poage, her four sisters Mabel Anderson (Kenneth), Geneva Williams (Joe B), Mildred Fry (James), and Betty Denham (Harry) as well as one Grandson, Erik Michael Adamson.

In addition to her husband Marj is survived by her three children, son Michael L. Adamson (Janet) of Ninety Six, South Carolina, and daughters Pamela J. Morris (Robert) of Bunker Hill, Indiana, and Rorahjean “Jean” Patterson (Robert) of Daphne, Alabama. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Mark Adamson (Deana) of Charlotte, North Carolina, Todd Adamson (Kimberly) of Ellijay, Georgia, Theresa Stewart (Mathew) of Russiaville, Indiana, David Morris (Angela) of Kokomo, Indiana, and Benjamin Sanders of Daphne, Alabama. There are 11 great-grandchildren, Ashlyn Rossitto (Ernesto) of Flower Mound, Texas; Carmen and Ian Adamson of Charlotte, North Carolina; Christian and Grayson Adamson of Stratford, Connecticut; Morgan, Cameron, and Caelyn Stewart of Russiaville, Indiana; Tyler Allen, Emilie and Madalyn Morris of Kokomo, Indiana.

Arrangements are still being made by Mackey Funerals and Cremations in Greenville, South Carolina through the Cremation Society of Florida. She will finally be laid to rest with her husband at Marine Corps Base Quantico in Quantico, Virginia. In lieu of flowers please make contributions to Lutheran Hospice, 429 N.
