Bunker Hill man arrested after Montgomery County standoff

 Members of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Indiana State Police and U.S. Marshals Service   arrested a Bunker Hill man Friday night after a two-hour standoff in Montgomery County. 

Devin Ewoldt, 33, was taken into custody on three active warrants out of Boone and Montgomery counties, the State Police said in a news release on Friday night. 

According to that release, officers arrived at a Montgomery County home in the 4200 block West 700 South  around 4 p.m.  to arrest Ewoldt when he ran into the house and would not exit the residence.

Authorities first attempted to make contact by phone but were unsuccessful, the release said. Ewoldt came out of the residence after about two hours and surrendered to officers on scene.

He was arrested and taken to the Montgomery County Jail. The two warrants out of Montgomery County were for  habitual traffic violations and possession of methamphetamine. Ewoldt was also wanted out of Boone County was for armed robbery and intimidation with a weapon, the release said.
