Maconaquah Girls Varsity Basketball – Jan. 4

The Maconaquah Lady Braves started the new year with a tough-fought Three Rivers Conference victory against Manchester, winning 63-62.

Lilly Maple and Madison Wilson had strong scoring performances, netting 28 and 20 points respectively. Kianna Sharp added five points with two baskets at key points in the game.

The game kicked off a stretch of nine games in the next three weeks. The Lady Braves travel to Kokomo on Wednesday to face the Lady Wildkats. Tipoff time for the J.V. is 6 p.m. and 7:30 for the varsity.

Maconaquah Girls JV Basketball – Jan. 2

The Maconaquah Lady Braves JV basketball team fell to Western in the first game of the Warrior Shootout held at North Miami High School on Saturday. The score was 43-24.

Bailey Carson scored six points for the Braves. Miranda Stoll had four points, Kianna Sharp and Shaelyn Powell each netted three points, and Hallie Maiben, Sydney Barnes, Courtney Stoll, and Ava Snyder each scored two points in the effort.

In their second game, the Lady Braves topped Peru 37-27.

Miranda Stoll led the way for the team, making three three-pointers on her way to scoring 15 points. Kianna Sharp and Hallie Maiben each scored five points, while Sydney Barnes added four points.

Shaelyn Powell, Bailey Carson, Courtney Stoll, and Naomi Sinnamon each scored two points in the victory.
