New recommendations blunt athletics possibilities

New Center for Disease Control guidelines released Sunday have put the viability of spring athletic contests in doubt with recommendations against gatherings of larger than 50 persons for the next eight weeks, raising the possibility that games may not be viable before the IHSAA State Tournament series begin, meaning one of the next contests that could be played is the IFCA North-South All-Start Game, which North Miami’s Tristan Working (10) was selected to play in, on July 10.

Monday was supposed to be the day where spring sports got into full gear.

It was supposed to be the day where the pinging of bats and popping of mitts took place on baseball fields across the state, joining the softball players that had been doing the same for the past two weeks.
